First
produced by noted illustrator Frederick
Opper more than 100 years ago, The
Museum of Wonders is a rare treat
for children and adults.
In
this visit to a museum of scientific
and circus wonders, of the type popular
at the end of the 19th century, Opper
captures the timeless joy of childhood
wonder: that happy combination of
the wondrous, the miraculous, and
sheer silliness.
One
of the most accomplished illustrators
and cartoonists of his time, Opper
was a mainstay of the London satirical
journal "Punch". His Museum
of Wonders is today quite rare.
Edition
limited to 800 sets.
Each
set contains fifteen art prints, each
11" x 14", on high quality
acid-free Arches paper, and fifteen
specially printed panels of accompanying
text, presented in a leather bound
book portfolio, plus one print 19"
x 13", and accompanying text
panel 11" x 14", all suitable
for framing.
